There are some wonderful opportunities coming up next month. Throughout the last weekend in April, residents of Northern Virginia will be coming together to donate their time, energy and money to feed hungry people locally and internationally.

Empty Bowls 2014

“As we fill our bowls, let us remember those that are empty.”

On Friday, April 25 from 5:30-8:00pm at Floris United Methodist Church, The Giving Circle of HOPE of Reston will hold their 7th Annual Empty Bowls Event to raise money for Food for Others, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which provides emergency food supplies to the nearly 90,000 people living below the poverty line right here in Northern Virginia. Join us to share a simple dinner of bread and soup. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Choose one of over 600 handcrafted one-of-a-kind bowls donated by various local ceramic pottery artists.

For more information or to buy tickets you can contact me, Sherry, at 703-407-5778 or Sher@LNF.com. You can also email emptybowls@givingcircleofhope.org. To donate directly to Food for Others, click here.

We need volunteers to help assemble food packages as well as donations to cover the cost of materials, food, etc. It took 100 volunteers to package 25,000 meals last year, and we had a great time.

You can find more information by visiting www.stophungernow.org.

For questions or to volunteer contact me at 703-407-5778 or Sher@LNF.com and to donate directly, click here http://events.stophungernow.org/chantilly.
